Znüni News – Monday November 8

Today is the start of the national vaccination week. The government has spent 100 million francs in order to get as many people vaccinated as possible. Concerts have been organised, new vaccination and information centres have been set up and you can even organise a vaccination party in order to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at your home with a minimum of 5 people. You can find all the information in this link.

Fasnacht will definitely take place next year. Last Saturday the new badge was unveiled as well as the regulations which can be expected. Basically anyone wanting to take part in the procession will need to show that they have the Covid certificate, but not the spectators.

If you have been going out to restaurants you may have noticed that in some places the staff wear masks and in others not. Both options are legal; basically the staff are not obligated to be vaccinated, in which case masks are compulsory, but if they are vaccinated then they do not have to wear one. However it can also be that the staff decided to wear a mask to make the dinners feel safer. So no rights or wrongs here, just a question of personal choice.

Fancy going to the sea? get on your bike then!! That is what Daniel Blättler did, riding from Lucerne to Genoa in 18 hours. He left Lucerne at 2 in the morning and arrived in Genoa in the evening, having cycled over 430 kms and climbed up 3700 meters. His next goal is to cycle 10 kms in under 36 minutes. Good luck.

Expect a grey, cold week ahead.

Have a good week!
