Znuni News – Monday June 25

The pope was visiting Geneva last week. Several thousands of people turned out to greet the pontiff who then gave a mass where he called for people to return to a more simple way of life.

Things are not looking good for the fish in the lake and its surrounding arms. It is in particular the streams and rivers that are suffering the most. There needs to be a policy to improve the water quality in them so that trout can reproduce and find protection. Over 34 such arms are scheduled to be renovated until 2023. Hopefully the trouts can wait that long.

This weekend the Luzerner Fest will be taking place. This is one of the social highlights of the city. All proceeds goes towards helping local organisations. This year one of the highlights will be the animated lightshows on the local building façades. Amongst the free concerts there will be Reto Burrell, Dada Ante Portas, Luca Hänni, Dodo and Florian Ast.
