Coronavirus / Covid-19 Update – January 19. 2022

After consulting with the cantons the government has decided that the measures put in place mid December will be extended until mid-March:

2G and 2G+ for certain indoor areas as well as the extended mask obligation indoors are provisionally valid until the end of March.

The 3G rule for outdoor events with 300 or more people and the restriction of 30 people in private meetings will apply provisionally until the end of March.

The home office obligation now applies until the end of February, as does the contact quarantine (applies only to persons in the same household or with similarly close contact, with the exception of persons who have been vaccinated or recovered in the last four months).

The Federal Council has decided to shorten the validity of vaccination and convalescence certificates from 365 to 270 days as of the end of January.

As of January 22. 2022, people travelling to Switzerland who can prove that they are vaccinated and/or recovered will no longer need to provide a PCR test.

As of January 24. 2022, an antigen test will be sufficient to receive a “recovered” certificate.

The next meeting will be on February 2. when the government will look at the numbers of cases and hospitalisations and decide whether to lift the measures earlier or not.
