According to the head of the Covid-19 task force, Switzerland is on course to be in the same situation as Austria in 3 weeks time, unless new measures are implemented to slow down the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Meanwhile the health department is asking people to adhere to the safety measures already in place, wearing masks, washing hands and reducing contact with others if possible. However the government is still not considering putting any measures in place such as a return to home office or extending the use of the Covid certificate; preferring instead to let the cantons decide what works for them. Currently the canton of Nidwalden is a Covid hotspot and has four times more cases than the Tessin.

The school in Meggen has for the second time this year had all its raised beds tipped over and destroyed. These were put up as a project for children to grow plants and learn about nature. The police is asking for any witnesses to step forward.
