Yesterday a turned over lorry caused a massive traffic jam between Stans and Horw, leading drivers to be blocked on the highway for over 3 hours as the mess was cleared away. And what a mess! The lorry was transporting 2000 litres of milk. Luckily no one was injured even if patience was really tried for the drivers who had no possibility to exit the highway or rest areas to go to.

Expect delays in having your question or case answered at the immigration office. With 3 full time employees on sick leave, the hours when phone calls are answered has been reduced since end of February and case are taking longer to be treated. 9000 queries are received per month either via phone or by people dropping by and the employees simply cannot keep up with the demand. They are hoping that things will normalise in the coming weeks as new staff has been recruited, but in the meantime patience is required.

Güggemusic is too loud! This is what the city has decided and is suggesting that signs warning of the danger of loud music be put up all over the city during Fasnacht, as well as sound protecting gear be handed out for free.
