This weekend saw the “Red Bull Cliff Diving” competition taking place in Sisikon. 24 contestants from all over the world were jumping from respectively 22 meter high diving boards for women and 27 meters for men. Many of the spectators were watching from inflatable dinghies and SUPs. Rhiannan Iffland from Australia won, as did Aidan Heslop but the final competition and official title giving will take place on October 15 in Sydney.

There are fewer drug addicts hanging around the train station. Unfortunately this doesn’t mean that the numbers are going down but rather that the strong police presence has got them to move on to other places. Namely the bus stop at Kasernenplatz which seems to be a new favourite, as well as in front of the main post office.

The Swiss Skills 2022 took place in Bern over 4 days. This is the opportunity for Swiss apprentices to showcase their skills, be it landscape gardening, car mechanics or IT skills. Of the 1000 participants, 125 were from central Switzerland and, between them, they won 9 gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze medals. Next stop the European Championships in 2023.

An earthquake near Mulhouse on Saturday was felt by some even in Lucerne. The earthquake’s magnitude was 4.7 on the Richter’s scale, luckily it caused little damage. The week will start off sunny but will turn rainy from wednesday onwards. Temperatures will vary between the mid to low twenties.
