This Saturday, the Cheese Festival comes to Lucerne from 09:00 – 17:00. This is regarded as one of the best cheese markets around and is in fact the biggest in Central Switzerland. There will be approx. 20 cheese producers from all around the region offering you more than 250 different types of cheese.
Do not fear, if you are overwhelmed by the choices that are on offer, as you can sample them all and get advice at many of the stands for that special cheese you are looking for. Switzerland has so much to offer in the way of cheeses, so go out to the festival and try something new!
There is plenty on offer for both young and old, from cheese making, cow milking competitions along with all the fondue and raclette you could wish for. So if you have ever wondered about the fine art of making cheese, make your way to the old town this weekend and allow these craftsman show you their fine works of edible art.
