The LiLi Centre has been running for the past 7 years. It is a community centre focused on helping individuals regardless of nationality, gender and social background, to integrate in Swiss society by offering them a safe space and a “home from home”.
What we are not:
- We are not an expat social club
- We are not a restaurant
- We are not a language school
- We are not a therapist office
- We are not a playgroup
- We are not a cultural centre
- We are not a co-working space
What we are
- We offer a variety of engaging programmes that include social events promoting networking, bridge building and culture.
- Our kitchen is open for budding cooks to turn into chefs by offering their wares and go on to open their own restaurants.
- Our language programmes help people to understand the local language in a friendly and comfortable environment.
- Our mental health programmes are aimed for people from all walks and stages of life. At the centre they find sympathetic and professional help that “get” their issues.
- We offer an opportunity for young families to connect and support each other.
- We are there to help people looking for work or wanting to set up their own small business and our space is open to anyone who would rather work from outside the home.
In short we are a support centre for anyone needing a place to connect, grow and thirve whilst living in Switzerland.
We are entirely run by volunteers and socially responsible professionals who offer their services at low cost.
It costs around CHF 100 000.- a year to run the centre and our many programmes. The town supports us but we still need to find 2/3 of the money ourselves. We do this through rentals, memberships and sponsorships.
This is where you can help us. Your donation, however big or small, will help us to continue our projects and to grow so that more people can be helped in the coming years.
You can donate any amount – we are appreciative for every little bit, and we will happily provide you with a donation certificate.
You can also help by becoming a member of the centre yourself, or by paying a membership forward, so we can give it to someone who doesn’t have the means to pay for it themselves.
In any case, we are very thankful for the community’s continued support. The centre is here for you!
