I recently found out about the Swiss Museum Pass which gives you free entry to over 470 museums across Switzerland. In the city of Luzern alone you can get free entry to the following places:
Glacier Garden, Natur-Museum, Kunstmuseum (KKL), Sammlung Rosengart, Bourbaki Panorama, Historisches Museum, Richard Wagner Museum and the Alpineum
On top of this you can get 50% discount on entry to the Verkehrshaus.
For a full list of museums covered by the pass click here. The website also has a good search engine which allows you to search by museum name, location, category and other criteria.
The cost of an annual adult pass (1 adult) is CHF155, an adult plus pass (1 adult and up to 5 children) is CHF188 and a family pass (2 adults and up to 5 children) is CHF277.
