Good Friday and the start of the long Easter weekend are only a week away. Below you will find some ideas of how to spend the weekend in and around the Lucerne area.
Get outside
The Tier Park Goldau (40 minutes by train from Lucerne) is hosting a number of Easter brunches in their zoo restaurant “Grüne Gans” on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 9am – 12pm. The park is home to a wide array of wildlife and is a great day out for everyone!
Rigi Mountain is also offering a number of Easter specials throughout the weekend at their restaurants. Their main event not to be missed is the Easter egg hunt with over 400 eggs hidden on Mount Rigi. If you find an egg you’ll receive a sweet treat and be entered into a big prize draw.

Vier Waldstättersee invites you to spend Easter Sunday on Lake Lucerne with a 3 hour cruise and a 3-course menu.
Head to a museum, shopping centre or out for brunch

Like every year the nature museum in the centre of Lucerne is offering an Easter exhibition “from the egg to the Bible”.
The Mall of Switzerland is hosting “The big Easter adventure” between 11th March to 1st April. The Easter bunny has hidden eggs and puzzles to be solved, and there are rewards to be won.
Pilatusmarkt is also hosting a Kids Day on 27th March where children can decorate Easter Guetzli.

Religious activities
For people wishing to celebrate the Christian meaning of Easter, there are a number of churches in Lucerne. Below we have listed a couple of options.
The International Church of Lucerne will host an Easter Sunday Morning Service from 10:30am.
Catholic English Church of Lucerne will have its Holy Week services:
- Maundy Thursday: (28th March) 5:30pm
- Good Friday: (29th March) 3:00pm
- Easter Vigil: (30th March) 9:00pm
