Hard to believe but the summer holidays are nearly upon us and unless you are able to have 6 to 8 weeks of vacation time you are going to be looking for ways to keep your kids occupied at least for some part of the summer. But fear not we have some suggestions for you.
Freizeit Luzern
A great way to get the kids out of the house is by taking advantage of the Luzern Holiday Pass 2019 which this year is valid from 8 July to 18 August . The pass is a regional offer from 17 participating municipalities and is aimed at children and young people (aged 6 to 18). The pass entitles them to free travel (including by bus, train and boat) and free entry into 11 Badis as well as 15 other museums and attractions. There are two passes available:

Joanna Christen- Glennie from the HSK Lucerne English School will be running two summer camps for kids this summer. The camps are from the 15 to 19 and 22 until 26 of July from 09.00- 15.00 each day. This fun day camp will give children the opportunity to do different outings, such as going to the Library, Meggenhorn, exploring the Luzern City Walls, and playgrounds. One of the few organisations running football camps during the school holidays (in canton Zug) where English is the main language. They run a variety of summer camps including:
Mini Camps: a fantastic fun introduction to Soccer for 3–5 year-olds for Boys & Girls wanting to do mornings only. Lots of fun games related to children’s ages helping improve skill, technique, balance, movement & coordination via great children’s coaches.

Goalkeeper Camps are 1-5 day camps for 8-13 year-olds wanting to develop their Goalkeeping skills with fun & challenging camps with a great Goalkeepers Coaching program helping participants to move up to the next level.

MS Sports offers four- and five-day non-residential holiday camps in hip hop dancing, tennis, football, horse riding and unihockey (one day) across various locations in cantons Luzern, Zug and Nidwalden.
- Cost per camp: CHF215 to CHF395. Includes all instruction/supervision, lunches, snacks and a special camp T-shirt.
MS Sports also runs week-long residential camps in Sursee throughout the summer. Open to children from ages 7-17, each camp focuses on a particular activity for a few hours each day – karate, archery, tennis, riding, football, dance, to name but a few.

Now in their 11th year, Kinder-Camps is a five-day camp for children aged 6 -13 based in Kriens. Activities include climbing, football, hockey, dancing, acrobatics, juggling, and Capoeira.

For primary school children (1st – 6th grade) this sports camp takes place in Utenberg, Luzern and gives kids the opportunity to try a new sport each day!

If you want your child to enjoy something a bit different then you can send them to the International Summer Camp at the Institute Montana on the Zugerberg. Your child can go as a boarder or a day student and spend 4 weeks improving their language skills and doing a veriety of fun activities. You can find out more here .
