October LiLi Centre Events

October brings a big variety of programmes, including more events for teenagers as well as the launch of our women’s group. More detail below:

German Conversation B1+ (evening group)

Our German conversation B1+ group will start a brand new semester on 2. Oct for 11 weeks. Sign up now to practice your German in a fun and relaxed environment.

The conversation groups will run weekly on Wednesday evenings for advanced speakers (B1 and up). If you are unsure if you are advanced enough, don’t worry – just contact us on liligermanconversation@gmail.com and we will assist you.

The group will be led by Constanze. Please note that this group does not teach German but focuses only on conversation. You should be able and willing to understand and contribute to the conversation (on your level). Don’t be shy…practice makes perfect!

JIFF Workshop – Preparing for the Swiss Job Market

The JIFF workshop will continue on October 3rd. 

SESSION TWO: 3. October 2019  (18:30 – 20:30)

This session will be led by Lina Petraviciute who will talk about LinkedIn, your social media profile and its importance. The second part will be by a representative of SIVO who will talk about strategic volunteering.

Boxercise – taster session

Had a stressful day/week/month/year?? Not even started the day yet and already feeling the strain of a tense mind? Want to learn a new skill? Haven’t enjoyed fitness before? There are a lot more questions I could be asking but the answer to all of them could be ‘Boxercise’. 12.10 Swim Club: Sunrise Swim

Our Swim Club will be hosting a “Sunrise Swim” followed by a buffet style breakfast. We will meet at the LiLi Centre at 07:20 and head down to the Lake for a refreshing dip. 15.10 / 23.10 / 30.10 – Understanding Insurance In Switzerland

Do you need a new insurance policy? Do your insurance policies fit your needs?  Are you under/over insured, or paying too much?  Ivan Buholzer, a Professional Insurance Broker, from Brokerservices will be at the Centre to help guide you through this complex issue with an “Insurance Policy Check-Up”. 16.10 Teenie Stress Hacks

Pizza and Question Time! Dr.Brandi Eisjermans will answer questions and provide life hacks on how to deal with the stress of exams. This event is open to children from primary 5 and up. Kids are invited to come, have a pizza, ask questions about coping with exam stress & expectations. Free to members; CHF 5.- for non-members.

Starts 17.10 Adventures In Robotics

Come join us for amazing adventures as we delve into the exciting world of robotics! Designed for ages 7-12, we meet once a week to explore, discover, and learn how robots work and how they interact with the world around us. Our workshops invite children to explore and discover in a way that turns ordinary play activity into savvy and pointed STEM education, providing a perfect way to introduce the concepts of robotics, algorithmic thinking, engineering, and programming.

COST: Each workshop is ChF 35.00, and includes all rental equipment, instructor fees and workshop supplies.

17.10 Personal Vision Workshop

Do you want to discover your life purpose and give more meaning to your life? In this interactive workshop you will learn how to create a personal vision that will help you make better choices and live a more fulfilling life.

19.10 Breast Cancer Awareness Event

This event is the launch of our Women’s Group where we are not afraid to broach any subject, and rely on each other for support and friendship. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, in honour of this Dr Catherine Muff will offer a workshop on breast cancer prevention. Dr. Brandi Eisjermans & Dr. Katia Trechsler will also be on hand to answer questions surrounding the topic of prevention. Anita will offer massages and facials by booking. We will have prosecco and finger food.

Starts 21.10 Breathing Class

Are you too tired for sports in the evening but you need an alternative to calm down your physical and psychological system? In this class we are using breathing technics combined with movements and soft tones to renew the right tonus of the body. This class is also useful as a burn-out prevention.

24.10 The French Gastronomy

When you think of fine food, you may well think of French cuisine. But there is a fascinating history and culture behind this type of food. Mr. Victor Saudan, Professor at the Pedagogical University in Lucerne, takes us on a culinary journey through the history of the French gastronomy. The conference is in French, free and open to the public.

The event will last from 18:00 to 22:00.

26.10 Cranio-Sacral Workshop

A natural and intuitive, energetic approach with a foundation in Cranial Osteopathy (Craniosacral Therapy) and Shamanism which incorporates a light, and gentle touch or non touch of hands, somatic movement, which can assist an individual, in assisting themselves, in feeling, and freeing up what one may need to ‘move through’, ‘move with’, in order to ‘move along’.

28.10 International book club

How about getting together once a month to discuss novels featuring different countries and cultures by authors from all over the world? We will make our way around the globe, exploring and exchanging our thoughts .
