For the 5th time from 11 to 21 January 2024, Lucerne will once again become a luminous meeting place. At the Lilu Light Festival Lucerne, artists from all over the world will present the diverse and fascinating facets of light art. Discover creative light installations on an illuminated winter walk and experience an attractive supporting programme with a light show for all the senses. The alleys, sights and squares of the city of Lucerne will be creatively illuminated, turning our city into an enchanted world.
There are free tours all over town to enjoy and some special concerts such as the Eternity show in the Jesuit church with various artists. You can buy tickets here.
The HSLU students have also put together a programme marrying music, design and art. The show will be performed 3 times a night starting at 19.00 at the Peter’s chapel.
The light shows begin at 18.00 and start at the KKL and then a wander through the old town will lead you to exhibit after exhibit. You can fly over Switzerland as a dragon at the Vögeligarten, take in the moon at the Europa square, enjoy Synergy at the Kornmarkt, or marvel at the Matterhorn appearing to be part of the Luerne skyscape. In all 24 light installations will enchant you and warrent more than one visit.
