Znüni News – Wednesday May 16

The number of inhabitants in Luzern is continuously growing, because of this we need bigger schools. In Littau a 53 million francs school is currently being built and it seems now that the Würzenbach school will get an overhaul in the coming months. It currently houses 13 primary classes and 3 kindergarten classes but this could already grow to 14 classes and 4 kindergarten groups by 2019/20. The town parliament will decide whether to approve the 8.3 million credit this coming Thursday.

There currently are  two types of impostors trying to rob people. First two men pretending to be policemen are convincing people to put CHF 10 000.- cash into bags and deposit them in town in order to catch “robbers”. Now, a man pretending to be inspecting buildings for asbestos is going around people’s homes and stealing jewellery or any valuables lying around. You need to know that the genuine police would never ask you to deposit large sums of money for a “sting operation” and no one is going around inspecting homes for asbestos. In general never let “handymen” into your home if you have not asked for them to come, if in doubt you can call the police at 041 248 81 17.

Finally the most exciting news of the day is that the Living in Luzern Summer issue is now out! You can pick your copy up at the LiLi Centre and we will be distributing it to all the usual drop-off points in the coming days.
