Covid-19 test will remain free until October 10 after which the majority of people will have to pay for them. The exceptions are:

  • People with symptoms (but they will have to payfor a certificate if they want one).
  • People who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons (such as pregnant women in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy) will be able to continue to test for free.
  • People visiting hospitals or retirement homes.
  • Children under the age of 16 will also be able to continue to test for free.
  • People who have had one vaccination will continue to be able to test for free until end of November.

The Gotthardhaus building downtown was sold at auction for a staggering 36.5 million francs. The initial asking price was 26 million francs. The owners claimed to want to do an auction to give more people a chance of becoming owners.

Credit Suisse is one of the first companies to offer gender neutral maternity leaves for its employees. They do not make the distinction between mother or father taking the maternity leave of 26 weeks, and the second parent can have 6 weeks paid break. Other companies are leaving it up to the parents to decide which of the two parents gets the longest break to be at home with the baby and how the weeks are divided between them.
