Znüni News – Tuesday April 17

With the weather finally warming up many of us are heading for the swimming pools. If you enjoy the Allmend pool you will continue to have to cough up the CHF 12.- entrance fee. There are had been calls for the price to be lowered to CHf 10.- for an adult but this has been refused by the city. However you can get in cheaper if you buy the sportcards, in which case the entrance only costs CHF 9.50. The further advantage is that you can also use the sportscard for the ice rink, the Würzenbach Sportcentre, the forest pool Zimmeregg and also the Tribschen Lido.

Wanting to avoid a police control a drunken driver swapped places with his passenger before being pulled over by the police. Unfortunately for them a witness came forward and gave the game away. In any case both the driver and passenger were way over the alcohol limit and, as a consequence, both men had their driver licences taken from them.

Have you heard of Fablabs? These are small scale workshops offering digital fabrication, including the use of a 3d printer. The Hochschule has had a Fablab for several years now and they are offering their services to the public in general as well as running various programmes. One of these programmes is the TinkerTecGirls which is for 13 to 16 year old girls interested in taking part in an electronic and technological workshop. You can use their 3D printer for as little as CHF 5.- for 30 minutes.
