Hopefully this will soon be a thing of the past as parliament is agreeing on a resolution forbidding cold calls from insurance companies, also the remuneration on intermediary companies is being severly limited. Although for the consumer protection association this is not enough to ensure our peace and quiet.

Travelling communities are being discriminated against because the country does not offer them enough places to set up camp as they roam the country. Between 2000 to 3000 travellers stay in Switzerland but are lacking in places where they can go. Although the government promised to offer them more spaces to spend the winter, they are currently 20 to 30 spots short. The government is blaming the cantons for not doing enough to offer the spaces, and arguing that these things take time to put into place. A survey of the general population show that 60% of people feel that travellers are a part of Swiss life and should have more spaces to set up camp.

Switzerland has agreed to take in 1600 asylum seekers from the Middle East war zone and along the Mediterranean route for the years 2022 & 2023. In order to be accepted these asylum seekers will have had to be recognised as such by the UN Human Rights Commission.
