On the 12th of June the Credit Suisse bank will officially be merged into the UBS holding. Whether the name Credit Suisse will continue to exist or not remains unclear.

Saturday afternoon a man fell off a steamboat on the lake of Lucerne and needed to be rescued. It is unclear whether he jumped or fell off accidentally. The aft of the boat needed to be evacuated whilst the crew looked into what caused the fall.

Yesterday afternoon a fight broke out in the Eritrean restaurant Helen in the Neustadt. As a consequence the whole area was cordonned off and several men who had fled the scene were arrested. The two victims are being cared for in hospital. It is unclear what the whole thing was about.

Soon it will only be possible to pay digitally in the restaurants belonging to the Familie Wiesner Gastronomie (FWG), in all that is 34 restaurants in the country. In Lucerne and Zug this concerns the Negishi Sushibar, Nooch Asian Kitchen, Miss Miu and The Butcher in Zug.

You may have been disappointed to see that three local take-aways have disappeared from the train station. “Holy Cow”, “Extrawurscht”, and “Thai Urban Kitchen” have all closed to be replaced by three newcomers. This is actually the concept that SBB has in place, to give startup restaurants a place to build up their clientele. In order to do so each takeaway receives a short rental contract so that there is a regular turnover with new concepts . Whereas Holy Cow is actively looking for a new venue, TUK hasn’t any plans to open another restaurant or take away in Lucerne.

This week will mainly be sunny and warm. Enjoy!
