Znüni News – Friday November 16

If you are planning to travel by train anywhere this weekend, plan ahead. The whole of the Lucerne Train Station will be closed ALL of Saturday and Sunday. The S3 and Voralpenexpress will already be closed from Friday 21.30 and only the Zentralbahn will run as normal this weekend.

If you are planning to travel to or from Sursee, Bern, Basel, Olten or hochdorf-Lenzburg you can get a train to/from Emmenbrücke.

Travellers to/from Zug-Zürich can get a train to/from Ebikon.

Travellers to/from Wolhusen, Entlebuch, Langnau or Langenthal get a train to/from Littau

Going to/from Arth-Goldau, Erstfeld, St.Gallen or Chiasso-Milano you can get the trains to/from the Luzern-Verkehrshaus stop.

There are bus replacements for the first three routes which will leave/arrive in Lucerne every 10 minutes.

To make matters worse this weekend the Lucerne Blues Festival and the Piano Festival will be starting and Sunday will see FC Lucerne playing FC Basel, in other words getting around our city is going to be chaotic this weekend!

The plan is that order will return and the trains will be running normally again from 4 a.m. on Monday, however history has shown that the best laid plans of the SBB don’t always run smoothly so check the news Monday morning to be sure that your train is running as scheduled.

We suggest you make the most of it and stay in town, there is loads to do right here in town!
