As of today the EU is accepting the Swiss Covid Certificate app, but in many countries this is valid only if you have had your second vaccination more than 14 days prior to when you wish to enter the country. You can find out more in our post here.
For reasons that are still unclear since last night all emergency numbers remain out of order in central Switzerland. In Lucerne you can reach the police by dialing: 041 248 81 17; the firemen: 041 248 88 18; and the health emergency : 076 831 62 87 or 076 831 62 89.
The rain in the last 24 hours has caused floods and landslides in the country. The worst hit region seems to be the Tessin with floods and hail causing massive damage. Locally the road between Flüelen and Sisikon is completely cut off. The weather should improve today.
Today is the last day of (local) school! So like many families we will be packing our bags and heading for sunnier shores. This means that I will be taking a break from bringing you the news until after the summer holidays.
The LiLi Centre is still open until July 31. thanks to our wonderful volunteers. It will then reopen on August 16.
