Two is a charm – that is what family Gislin from Engelberg must be saying to themselves, after their daughter Dominique Gislin won gold at the Olympic games in 2014 in Sochi it is now the turn of sister Michelle Gislin to win gold at PyengChangin the Alpine combined ski racing. The Gisin family are well known in the village of Engelberg and they own a sports shop there. What‘s more Wendy Holdener from Unteriberg/Schwyz won the bronze in the same race. This win places Switzerland in 10th position with 3 gold medals, 6 silvers and 3 bronze far behind Norway who is dominating the game with 35 medals.

If you are a mountain biker you know that the places where you can legally go mountain biking are few and far between in the city. This is about to change with a pilot project in the Bireggwald which will see the creation of marked paths for bikers, which will hopefully put an end to the conflicts between bikers and pedestrians in the local forests.

In reality a doctors‘ salary can be anywhere between CHF 350 000.- and 1.5 million; over 1500 head doctors earn 1 million francs per year.
