Znüni News -Friday April 27

There has been a third fewer applications to become Swiss since the beginning of the year. Applications from Italiens and Portuguese dropped the most (-50%), followed by French and Spaniards (-30%),  statistics do not reveal whether more Brits have applied for citizenship in view of Brexit or not. The government thinks that this is a passing trend and numbers will go up again.

Back in 2016 Horw took drone footage of homes to check whether they were in compliance with the local building regulations. This has been deemed illegal and the town will now have to delete all of its footage, as it was  a gross infringement of privacy. It is not clear whether anyone had broken building regulations or whether they can be prosecuted as a consequence. As of January 1st of this year it is allowed to take dronage footage as long as you have applied for permission first.

The house which has been occupied since April 7th at the Musegg 1 address has still not been cleared, although the illegal occupants were asked to leave April 12th. Beyond an incomprehension as to why the town is not enforcing the law is the more worrying fact that the house had been declared unsanitary for health reasons and the squatters are putting their health in danger. All political parties are hoping for a prompt solution.
