Tag der Offenen Museggtüme

On Saturday 14th September the Musegg Towers in Lucerne are hosting an open day, from 10:00 – 16:00. Eight out of nine towers in the centre of Lucerne will be open to the public for free. There will be some free guided tours on offer too, along with refreshments. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the city’s history and discover some of it’s most famous landmarks. There will be an information stall located between the Wachtturm and the Zytturm towers (in-front of the Kulturhof Hinter Musegg Museum). Find more information here.

Egyptian Night at the Lili Centre

Indulge your senses in the flavours of authentic Egyptian cuisine at the LiLi Centre in Lucerne. Taking place on Saturday 14th September, the LiLi Centre invties you to enjoy a dish of Koshari and a cup of tea homemade by Koshari & Co. Koshari is a traditional dish rich in flavours & aromatic spices. This comforting meal combines fried rice, vermicelli, brown lentils and pasta. Topped with a zesty tomato sauce, garlic vinegar and garnished with chickpeas and crispy fried onions. A dish of Koshari is for 15 CHF. Book your meal here until one day before the event!

Coop Open Air Cinema at Schloss Hallwyl

The Coop Open Air Cinema is currently running at Schloss Hallwyl, just 45 minutes from Lucerne in the town of Seengen. The cinema is running until the 17th September and is showing a range of films, old and new, in German and a few in English. The films showing this weekend include: Oh La La, Bon Schuur Ticino, Ich – Einfach unverbesserlich 4 – Hello Family Night, and Dos Amigos: Von den Alpen zu den Pampas. Visit the website here.

Lucerne Summer Festival

Since the middle of August, Lucerne has been alive with the sounds of the 2024 Summer Festival. Ending on the 15th September, the next few days showcase the last of the classical music programme. Lucerne Octoberfest / Lozärner Oktoberfest

The Lucerne Octoberfest begins on Friday, 13th September and will run every Friday and Saturday until the 28th September. Doors open at 5pm at Messe Luzern, Horwerstrasse 87, Hall 3/4. There will be food, drink, and of course lots of lively music. Visit the website here to reserve a table.

ACS Concours d’Excellence International Lucerne

The ACS Concours d’Excellence International is taking place this weekend, 13th and 14th September. The event is hosted by the Automobile Club of Switzerland and has a history dating back to the 1920s. The event showcases rare and unique cards, which will tour the city of Lucerne and end at the Verkehrshaus Museum where they will be judged and awarded prizes. The event starts on Friday from 14:00 and continues on Saturday and Sunday so there’s plenty of time to come along, whatever the weather. Take a trip to the Verkehrshaus if classic and unique cars are your thing!
