Welcome to Pilatus “your” mountain

We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with the Pilatus Bahn company.

We all know the Pilatus mountain, after all it is a big part of the local scenery but how many of you have actually gone up it and/or visited one of its many attractions?

Reaching a peak of 2132 metres and named after Pontius Pilatus our mountain has been the backdrop for many legends, from friendly dragons saving coopers to the restless spirit of Pontius Pilatus himself haunting the hills (he has reportedly since found peace). Of course the mountain isn’t just the stuff of legends but also a great place to go to for a day’s trip or even an overnight stay.

What can you do?

In the summer and autumn you can go to Krienseregg for a great family day, with barbecue spots,  easy hiking along the Dragon Moor and a great PILU land outdoor playground.

Rope park

Central Switzerland’s biggest rope park is to be found at the Fräkmüntegg. With challenges for all levels and ages this park is a fun and challenging outing.

Climbing

Pilatus also offers fantastic climbing opportunities with routes for all levels. The most famous one is the Galtigentürme with four rock pillars you can climb and enjoy amazing views. More details here.

Paragliding and biking are two other favourite activities to do on “our” mountain.

Golden Round Trip

Of course if you want to do something really special we recommend you do the Golden Round Trip. Starting from Lucerne with a boat trip to Alpnachstad and then the steepest cog wheel train up to Pilatus Kulm, then lunch at the top and a return with the Dragon Ride cablecar to Kriens.

There is so much to do on the Pilatus and it’s about to get even more fun with the tree tent experience opening in June (more of that very soon!).
