The Other Luzern Markets

You have probably been to the weekly farmers market in Luzern and know about the wonderful Christmas market going on in December at Franziskanerplatz, but you probably didn’t know about the other Luzern markets that take place each month as well!

The Goods Market or Warenmarkt has become one of the most beloved markets in Luzern. With over 55 stands offering a huge assortment of products like jewelry, shoes and clothes (things that you won’t find in H&M) to sweets to eat along the way, presents for that someone special or even whirligigs, you are bound to find something unique. Located right along the Reuss River from Bahnhofstrasse to Jesuitsenplatz you can enjoy this market of assorted goods from 7:00 until 18:30 the first Wednesday of the Month from March to December.

If you are an antiques collector or bargain shopper the Flea Market or Flohmarkt is the one for you! From May to October on Saturday mornings starting at 7:00 until 16:00 in the afternoon the flea market is located at Untere Burgerstrasse/Reusssteg (near the Naturmuseum Luzern) . There are tables where everything on it is only CHF 1.-  or belts and scarfs are also to be had for the low price of CHF 1.-  each is nowhere to be found in Luzern except at the flea market. Anything you can imagine like suitcases, tennis rackets, porcelain dolls, cookbooks, jewelry, antique phones, furniture and even cow bells can be found at this market! So save your money for those souvenirs for family members get something unique here. Perhaps you can even bargain for that must have item. Finally, the handcrafts market or Handwerksmarkt takes place the first Saturday of the month from April until December located on the Weinmarkt . See special dates and times for this market in December in the link above. Beginning at 8:00 in the morning until 16:00 in the late afternoon you can wander the romantic old town and browse the diverse collections of handmade jewelry, ceramic, textiles, leather products, floral arrangements, pictures, classic wooden toys and so much more.
