As of yesterday the Luzern bus company is offering the possibility to download an app which then allows you to buy your ticket using your smart phone. Once you’ve downloaded the app, all you to do is select the bus you want to take and your final destination and it will calculate the cost of the ticket and debit your credit card. If you are controlled you just show your phone to the conductor. No more fiddling around for change or missing the bus because there’s a queue at the ticket booth.
It also shows you when the next buses are due, serving as a time table too and can suggest alternate routes when there are delays. Yes another reason to start using the local public transport system!
