Swiss International School inaugurates new building

The SIS Swiss International School Rotkreuz-Zug is very attractive to the region’s local and expatriate families alike, thanks to its pioneering bilingual education model. The new facility was opened just in time for the start of the new school year.
SIS Rotkreuz-Zug opened its new primary and secondary school building on 13 August 2014. Students, parents and many other thrilled guests gathered in the cheerfully decorated entrance hall to hear principal Jarrod Brauer’s words of welcome. There followed speeches by Council Leader Peter Hausherr of Risch- Rotkreuz and by Tobias Achermann, CEO of Zug Estates. Ambros Hollenstein, CEO of SIS Switzerland, then took the floor. In his address, he briefly recounted SIS Rotkreuz-Zug’s successful development to date. The school first opened in August 2012 in the  historic  Suurstoffi buildings.   Now, eighty children from around the world attend lessons in the school’s two languages, German and English. The modern complex – featuring well-lit classrooms, a media centre and music, art and design studios, a science lab, and a sports and playground – provides a high-quality environment for effective, child- centred learning. From August 2015, it will also house a secondary school.
The students were proud and excited to take possession of their new school, which is now ideally placed to accommodate SIS Rotkreuz-Zug’s further dynamic growth
