Whilst the shores of Lake Lucerne may be snow-free for now, up in the mountains surrounding Central Switzerland the temperatures are dropping and creating the perfect conditions for skiing and the many other winter sports that are on offer. Ski resorts are beginning to open their doors, with many fun activities available for everyone to try. The Swiss ski resorts offer an idyllic place to try skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tobogganing, or warm up in an alpine cafe or spa.
Take a look at our list below of some of our favourite ski resorts which are accessible from Luzern by train, car, cable car, boat or bus. If you plan to visit regularly then you may also want to consider investing in a pass for the season! Some resorts and activities are already open, although we recommend checking before planning your weekend as it will vary depending on the snowfall.
