This singing class is a fun way to encourage social interaction between both Swiss and non Swiss families that have kids of a similar age. Children whose mother tongue is English have the chance to learn and enjoy the classic English songs and nursery rhymes, many of which parents will remember from their own childhood. Children whose mother tongue is Swiss German or another language, have the opportunity to learn basic English in an entertaining environment (and parents can refresh their English vocabulary too!). The lesson is aimed at children aged 1-4 with their parents or carers. Younger siblings are also welcome.
When?
Lessons take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, at 9.30 and 10.30. We sing with actions, puppets, parachutes and other props. The actual singing lasts for about 45 minutes. Three courses per year are offered (corresponding to Swiss school terms). Newcomers are welcome to try out a class free of charge!

Classes are held at the Music School in Dreilinden Park, Dreilindenstrasse 91, 6006 Lucerne
The teacher, Anya Heini, is English and has been running the singing classes in Lucerne for over 12 years. She has a great deal of singing experience performing both as a soloist and in choirs, musicals and operettas around the world. She has always loved singing and enjoys passing this passion and enthusiasm on to the class participants. She has run twelve English musical theater holiday workshops for primary school children (part of the Stadt Luzern Kreativ- und Sport Woche) and also participated regularly Christmas Shows for children with the Lucerne World Theater Company. Currently she sings with the Jazz choir „Chestnut Voices“ as well as taking part in various other choral projects.
