There is something wonderfully decadent about sitting at a terrace in the sun, admiring the view whilst the kids play close by and knowing that there is food & drink a plenty to be enjoyed during an outdoor brunch.

Restaurant National, Luzern
On a sunny day the luxurious brunch is served from 11am to 3pm on the terrace overlooking the esplanade and lake, but should the weather change the large room indoors ensures that everyone can stay dry whilst enjoying the various buffets as well as a choice of à la carte starters, main courses and desserts. It costs CHF 65.- a person including a glass of sparkly wine.

Opus Restaurant, Luzern
With a lovely terrace on the Reuss and plenty of room for kids to run around the buffet here is great value at CHF 39.50 including an antipasti buffet and the usual breakfast goods, rösti with eggs and a choice of Italian desserts as well as a glass of Prosecco. Served on Sundays and holidays from 10am to 1:30pm.

Sternen Hotel, Horw
Overlooking the lake this hotel has a playground right next to it as well as the chance to watch stand up paddlers and sailors make the most of the sunny days. The brunch consists of three different buffets and included in the CHF 63.- are two coffees or teas, orange juice and a glass of bubbly and is served from 11am to 2pm.

Restaurant Alpenhof, Küssnacht am Rigi
Nestled up the mountain overlooking the lake, the restaurant Alpenhof offers a typical Swiss brunch for an amazing CHF 30.- per adult, if the view weren’t enough, they also have the coolest playground including trampolines and slides and if that weren’t enough the Rigi rope park, is a few metres away for children and grown-ups to enjoy. They are quite flexible time wise but ask that you finish your meal within two hours.

Trumpf Buur, Ebikon
We could not leave this place off our list, Trumpf Buur is an institution offering a petting zoo, a mini golf and a playground, making it an absolute favourite with children of all ages. A typical farmer’s brunch is served from 9am to 11am for CHF 25.-.
