Lozärner Määs – Lucerne’s Autumn Fair

After being cancelled for the past couple of years, Lucerne’s very own county fair, the Lozärner Määs will resume! From October 1 until October 16 beginning at Bahnhofplatz and running along the banks of the KKL until Inselipark, the city will be lit up with lights, rides and stands galore. Over 100 little wooden houses offering delicious food and typical festival goodies, crafts, candies and more making for a truly special ambience you cannot miss out on! It definitely says something when during these 16 days just over 400,000 visitors are expected to visit our “little town’s” county fair! The Chilbi or Luzerner Määs traditionally was a county fair and was originally linked to help celebrate the city’s patron saint, (October 2.) and the priests ordination day. This is now forgotten and it’s all about having fun, fun, fun! So make the most of it.

The opening ceremony will begin at 10:00 on October 1 with a “Eröffnungschlapf” and 500 free chips for rides will be dispersed into the air! The regular hours of the festival are daily from 10:00 until 19:00. The last day it is open until 18:00 only. Luna Park is open from 10:00 until 22:00 with the exception of Fridays and Saturdays until 23:00. On the last day, Luna Park is open until 20:00 only.
