Today the number of cases is 1343, the national average is 5% less than a week ago, showing that the number of cases of new variants are growing. According to the health minister we have reached the bottom of the curve and numbers are probably going to go up. However the good news is that the number of patients in hospitals and deaths are going down. Based on these numbers the government has decided to not lift the restaurant terrace ban earlier.
However the national government has definitively decided on the following opening steps to be taken as of March 1st:
- Stores, museums, zoos, botanical gardens, outdoor areas of sports and leisure facilities can reopen.
- Outdoor meetings with family and friends of up to 15 people will be allowed again, as well as sports and cultural activities (without physical contact).
- Youth and young adults up to age 20 can resume most sports and cultural activities including choirs & concerts (without an audience).
- There will be no opening of restaurant terraces.
The next opening step is to take place on March 22, instead of April 1. Among other things, this involves cultural and sporting events with an audience, home office being lifted, indoor sports and the opening of restaurant terraces.
Travelling to and from Switzerland.
