Summer in Lucerne is officially in full swing. We’ve found 5 fun events for you to enjoy in Lucerne, taking place over the next few months.
Luzern Live, 17-26 July
- Taking place in recent summers, this fun and vibrant event sees live music from many bands and musicians.
- Enjoy food and live music along the lake at Europaplatz and Schweizerhof where there are also some free open-air concerts.
- Otherwise you can buy a ‘Live Pass’ which gets you access to all concerts which take place at Hotel Schweizerhof for only 25 CHF.

UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, 2–27 July
- Switzerland has come alive with the sound of crowds cheering and singing, as people flock to the cities that are hosting Women’s EURO football games.
- The Schweizerhof Hotel in the centre of Lucerne is showing public viewings of the upcoming matches. Check their website for more information.
¡Noche Española! – A Taste of Spain at the International Dinner Evening, 19 July
- Join the LiLi Centre for a festive Spanish Night as part of their International Dinner series! Enjoy a warm summer evening filled with delicious food, lively conversation, and a fun touch of Spanish culture.

Swiss National Day, 1 August
- An annual public holiday in Switzerland to commemorate the beginning of the formation of Switzerland, with an alliance agreed in 1291 between the cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden.
- Celebrations take place across the country and there will be plenty to do in Lucerne.
- Celebrations start in Lucerne on the 31st July, 4pm at Europaplatz. There will be live music, entertainment and an official ceremony at 6.45pm. Other activities take place on the 1 August, such as a cruise on Lake Lucerne or lunch at the Mandarin Hotel.
Lucerne Summer Festival, 12 August – 14 September
- Experience 5 weeks of classical concerts, featuring both the old and new.
- Enjoy performances from famous and world class conductors and bands.
- Each year features a different theme, with 2025 focusing on “Classical music without end: Lucerne’s 2025 Summer Festival will turn your attention to musical creations that remain unfinished, that strive for the infinite, that were intentionally designed as works-in-progress, or that were continued by others.”
