Start of Winter Swimming Season 2022/2023

We are excited to start our fifth winter swimming season on Aug 23rd at 12:00. Depending on the weather, we might stay at Ufschötti after our swim for a picnic or head to the LiLi Centre to have lunch together and boast about our various cold water adventures during the summer break.

If you are new to winter swimming, this is the perfect opportunity to ask our seasoned swimmers all you want to know about winter swimming and to learn useful tips and tricks about the art of winter swimming.

If this is your first swim with us, please contact us before the swim.

From 23. August – HSK English School

Are you a native English speaker with a child at home who has also learned English as a first language? They can now improve their language skills at the LiLi Centre’s established English Language School for Children, an officially recognized program by the canton Luzern’s Heimatliche Sprach und Kultur (HSK) department.The goal behind this program is to help children master core English skills and elevate their English education beyond what is currently offered in local public/private schools. Such skills not only help with learning German at school, but also help children establish their own identity, prepare them for contact with relatives, and help with a return to English – speaking culture in later years. ABOUT THE CLASSES:
The program is open to English – speaking children ages 4 – 11. Kids will learn reading, writing, spelling, history, culture, and grammar from tutors fluent in the English language. The curriculum, designed by certified English instructor Joanna Christen-Glennie, is based off the Nelson English Skills Courses from Oxford University Press. The classes are offered in in line with public school schedules and take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. We now have 4 different classes for different age ranges:

Tuesday 15:45 – 17:15 for 4 – 6 year old (Class # 1)
Wednesday 13:30 – 15:00 for 7 – 8 year old
Wednesday 15:30 – 17:00 for 9 – 11 year old
Thursday 15:30 – 17:00 for 4 – 6 year old (Class # 2) Class size ranges from 3 to 10 children. All pupils will be assessed on their skills and given a grade and report on their performance. There is a required fee for the semester; please inquire with the school coordinator regarding costs (info@hsklucerne-english-school.ch). HSK Lucerne English School will adhere to the Swiss Government’s regulations regarding hygiene regulations and numbers of pupils in the classroom.


Thursday 25. August – Zumba Gold

join our Zumba Gold class every Thursday at The LiLi Centre. This easy to follow, low impact workout is just what you need to get your blood flowing. No experience is needed, and all levels are welcome to this “I Gotto Move To This music class. Be prepared to have fun and leave wanting more.

From August 24 – ABC Art Classes for Kids

Artists Be Creative – ABC Tutors are offering specialised art classes for kids every Wednesday at the Centre.

According to the International Child Art Foundation:
“A child who is exposed to the arts acquires a special ability to think creatively, be original, discover, innovate, and create intellectual property – key attributes for individual success and social prosperity in the twenty-first century.”

ABC (Artists Be Creative) Tutors Ltd, is now offering teens drawing and painting art courses in Luzern. The art classes have been designed by our expert art tutors who come with educational backgrounds and over 20 years teaching experience.

Classes are fun and engaging. We understand that young art students need to express themselves through drawing and painting, and our courses are designed to provide them with tuition that can cultivate their creative approach to the world.

The small groups (maximum of 10 students per art class) allow us to dedicate the necessary time that is needed for the development of each student and create a friendly, happy learning environment.

August 25 – Spanish Conversation

Our Spanish conversation group returns to the LiLi Centre so come by to improve your language skills. 

The classes are free so don’t be shy to practice in a nice and friendly environment.
