connect, grow & thrive.

It’s Gardening Time!

It’s officially springtime! The sun is shining, the air warm, the time has changed to summertime and the nights aren’t freezing (as often); so if you have a garden, a terrace, a balcony or even a window sill, it’s time to get your thumbs green.

If you’re looking for a shovel, a lawn mower or decide to build a shed then you’ll want to head to Coop Bau & Hobby, Landi , Hornbach , Obi or Bauhaus. These big stores also have a large selection of plants.

If you want to support local businesses then:

Heini Garten, situated close to the Kantonspital has a really nice collection of plants and flowers. You can go by to their store, or order online and have your purchase delivered, they also do spectacular flower arrangements if you have a special occasion you’d like to celebrate.

The Luzerner Garten Centre  sells many variety of plants grown on their land. You can go by and visit their centre for inspiration as well as buy plants, fruits & vegetables directly.

Schwitter probably is the best known garden centre in central Switzerland. It is huge with a variety of trees, shrubs and every kind of plant to choose from.

Hauernstein Garden Center is just a bit further down the road at the Baar exit.

If you want specific organic products then the Biogarten Andermatt has an online shop and does home deliveries.

For those who are interested in plants for the house/flat then Feey.ch is a great place to go. With every plant that you buy they donate money towards helping the environment.

If you want to do something really special you could order a beehome with endemic bees to help our local populations.

What better time than now to get outdoors, or freshen up your home with plants? Now there is no excuse to not get your hands dirty and have some fun gardening.
