October at the LiLi Centre

The LiLi Centre will remain open during the school holidays, 02-17 October. Please check our calendar for events continuing over the school break.

October will be a busy month at the Centre! We have lots of great new events taking place including art classes for all ages, art therapy sessions, book clubs, a photography exhibition and various delicious foods you haven’t tried out yet!

For any job seekers out there we will be hosting a JIFF Bootcamp and, last but not least, our 5th Anniversary Party is taking place on the 30th of October so hope to see you there!

As for the new Covid regulations, the certificate check is required (along with a valid ID) for events with 30 people or more and, if drinks or foods are being served inside the centre.
On a day-to-day basis anyone can visit the centre provided you register upon arrival, wear a mask whilst circulating in the centre and keep social distance.


From 1. October -Middle Eastern Lunches

We are now introducing yummy foods from the Arabic  Cuisine on Fridays! Join our weekly lunches so you can enjoy our amazing Arabic dishes. The chef will surprise you with various Middle Eastern traditional meals such as Tabouli (Arabic salad), chickpea mousse, eggplant mousse, pastry sheets stuffed with vegetables or minced meat, kibbehe (made from ground wheat pockets filled with minced meat or vegetarian).

My name is Frederik and I cook. The food I prepare for the PLANT lunches is 100% plant-based, seasonal and regional. Thursdays we serve our weekly special.We cook up something fresh, interesting and different every week.

11. October -International Book Club

How about getting together once a month to discuss novels featuring different countries and cultures by authors from all over the world? We will make our way around the globe, exploring and exchanging our thoughts.

Our International Book Club will meet again on Monday 11. October. The book for October will be the Conversations with Friends, by Sally Rooney.

15. October – Grief Support Group (ONLINE)

A safe space to connect and heal ONLINE

  • 9-week self-help and social support through the grieving process
  • Build community around your grief and healing experience
  • Connect with your own thoughts and feelings

  • Discover ways to help yourself and others
  • Develop skills that foster greater understanding of yourself and meaning through grief

18. October -Understanding Insurance in Switzerland (ONLINE)

On the 18th of October we will be hosting a webinar where important questions will be asked regarding health insurance. Ivan Buholzer, A Professional Insurance Broker, from Brokerservices will be at the Centre to help guide you through this complex issue with an “Insurance Policy Check-Up”.

23. October – Watercolour Painting Workshop

Have you always wanted to catch up with your artistic skills or inclinations but didn’t really get the chance? Maybe it’s time you give it a chance and join us for a relaxing Painting class with artist Amalia Maciuca. She will teach you the basic steps of painting in a friendly atmosphere where you can learn and make new friends.

29. October – Art Photo Exhibition & Zero Waste

Come to practice your French on October 29th at 7pm at the Photo Exhibition of the Alliance Française with Zero waste Lucerne. Morgan Corseaux will show you his photography work from Canada to Switzerland and the ones of Zurich photographers.

Rosanna from Zero Waste will be present to give some tips to reduce waste and single use. The Exhibition will remain on display for the following weeks.

30. October – 5th Anniversary Party for The Lili Centre

Wow, The Lili Centre turns five this year and we would like to invite you all to come and celebrate with us! To mark the occasion we will be hosting our usual open house party at The Lili Centre on Saturday 30 October from 09:00 through 22:00.

There will be food and drinks throughout the day, a kids club, fun classes, live music and entertainment as well as an instant win raffle with the chance to win many great prizes to help support The Centre!!  Topped off by an evening Halloween Costumed Party which is not to be missed.

The agenda will be posted in the next week or two but please save the date in your diary for what will be a memorable day and evening for you and in support of The Centre.
