Znüni News – Monday September 13.
As of today anyone wishing to go to a restaurant, fitness studio or cinema has to show that they have been either vaccinated, have recovered from Covid-19 or been tested via the Covid Certifcate app. There will be no need to show the Covid Certificate for taking public transport. This winter anyone wishing to go skiing will need to show the certificate. As a reminder as of October 1st any testing without symptoms will need to be paid. You can read the full details about where you need to show the certifcate here.
1500 people took place in an illegal demonstration against these measures on Saturday in Lucerne, bringing traffic to a grinding halt. The police tried to disperse the crowd using tear gas.
Meanwhile the national parliament is resuming this morning for their first autumn session, and the certificate is not obligatory for the members of parliament. The reasoning is that the meeting is obligatory for all members regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not, but a solution is being looked into.
On Sunday the Luzerner Stadtlauf took place with 5000 runners in various categories. This was a far cry from the usual 13 000 plus runners who take part and can be explained by the fact that many cities had picked yesterday as their postponed date for their Stadtlauf. All the same, it seems as if a good time was had by all.
This week the weather will be a mix bag of sun, fog and rain. Temperatures will stay around 20° celsius.
LiLi Centre update:
After discussing the issue with the integration office who checked with the canton and the local health organisation, it was decided that the LiLi Centre does not need to implement the Covid Certificate check unless there are events of 30 people or more. This means that on a day-to-day basis anyone can visit the centre provided they register upon arrival, wear a mask whilst circulating in the centre and keep social distance. The certificate check will only be implemented for events with 30 people or more such as an international evening or our anniversary. This will mean that no mask will need to be worn nor social distancing necessary at these events.
