Covid-19 New Measure for Lucerne

The situation in Lucerne with regards to postive Covid-19 cases is not good. The R rate currently is over 1 (1,06) meaning that we are in a “red zone“. As a consequence the canton has decided to add even more restrictions than those imposed by the government.

As of Saturday December 12 at 19.00 and until January 22 at least as well as the national measures, the following applies in the canton.

  • Entertainment and leisure facilities, namely museums, galleries, cinemas, casinos, gaming salons, bowling and billiard centres, indoor sports facilities such as gymnasiums, indoor tennis courts, indoor riding arenas, indoor ice rinks and indoor climbing centres, as well as indoor swimming pools, wellness centres, fitness centres and dance studios.
  • Libraries, media libraries and archives, except for lending purposes.
  • Youth centres
  • Museums and theatres to remain closed until 22 January

Further restrictive measures will also be applied to schools but children should still be able to go to school and not have to home school.

On Monday the local government will explain how they plan on helping companies affected by these new measures.
